Monthly Praise and Prayer Report*

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,

may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation,

so that you may know him better.

I pray also that the eyes of your hearts may be enlightened

in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you,

the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

~Ephesians 1:17 - 19a

Please pray these words for us as part of your daily prayers that we might know Him better and that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened so that the certain hope and the incomparably great power which are ours in Christ might permeate every aspect of our being and might bear witness to our friends here in the Czech Republic of the reality of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord..

Below you will find the daily prayer items for the month of May.  We are so grateful for your ongoing commitment to stand with us in this calling.

1&2        Praise God for his provision for Sarah Ingram in opening up a position in Christian education in a church in Jacksonville, Florida.

3&4        Pray for our daily strength to press on with joy, gratitude and zeal in the face of the daily stresses that come from living in a foreign culture which is predominantly apathetic toward Christianity and the gospel.

5&6        Praise God for His daily grace as He applies the reality of the gospel to our own hearts as we face our own personal brokenness and sin and weaknesses.

7&8        Praise God for our American teams who’ll be helping with our three summer camps.  Pray for their strength, for their safety, for wisdom and for open doors to share their knowledge of English, their very lives, and especially their faith.

9&10      Praise God for the three new members in our little Reformed church.  Praise God for His mercy toward Jana, Dana, and Petr.

11&12    Pray for Jana, Dana, and Petr that they would grow in their love for Christ, for His Word, and for His Church.

13&14    Praise God for a wonderful weekend seminar in Třebíč for the Deutschmanns.  There were some good opportunities to share about spiritual things, and students were very eager to learn English and to share their lives.

15&16    Pray for the Holy Spirit to work mightily to develop a hunger for truth, a conviction of sin, a yearning for forgiveness and reconciliation in Christ in Zlín, Slavičín and Třebíč.

17&18    Praise God as two little children of families in the church Viktorka and Štěpan are baptized this Sunday.   Praise God for all the little children that we have in our church.  Pray for their parents who seek to raise them up in Christ a very challenging task in this pagan culture.

19&20    Pray for the English ministry in Slavičín that the Lord might cause this to lead to a Bible study and even a new church.

21&22    Praise for the opportunity that Sid has to help Jerry and Marilyn Farnik with a church plant in Prague every month.  They worked together on a church plant in a Prague suburb some years ago which the Lord has blessed richly.  To Him be the glory! 

23&24    Pray for our summer that there would be wonderful opportunities to share the gospel and to serve our many Czech friends.   

25&26    Praise God for an entire year of broadcasting of Christian radio station KTR in Kapchorwa, Uganda.  Sid was able to install the station last year.

27&28    Pray for Sid and Vlastimil who will be traveling to Uganda in August to work on improving the radio station as well as ministering to the people in Uganda.  Pray that the Lord would also use this time in a wonderful way to work in Vlastimil’s life.

29&30    Praise God for little Viktorka, the youngest of our pastor’s three children.   As you might recall, she was born with a serious heart defect and has already undergone several surgeries.  She’s now two years old and is doing quite well. Please continue to pray for her as she’ll have to undergo many more surgeries. 

31           Pray for our session that the men would grow in their ability and willingness to deal with all the issues involved in being a session, especially in following up with our many Czech contacts.
