PRAISE AND PRAYER
MTW Czech Republic team The great word of Jesus to His disciples is abandon. ~Oswald Chambers~ The Czech Republic is the most atheistic nation in all of Europe. The spiritual soil is parched and cracked; its people are blind and deaf to the love of Christ. When asked what is most valuable in their lives today, most Czechs would overwhelmingly reply that their health is most important. And when we have invited friends and students to visit our church on Sunday morning, the answer often includes a chuckle and a rapid succession of ‘no, thank you’. Christ knew what it was to live in this world of “no” and instant deniability. But He did not grow bitter or resentful. He did not lose hope that the Father would give up on the deceitful and cold heart of man. God’s grace in the blood of Christ was always enough, from first to the last. And as we live in this world and grieve over the brokenness daily seen among the blind and deaf, we are called to cling to the robe of God, to trust in His everlasting mercy, to abandon ourselves, and to be held captive by His love. Man may say no to us, the soil may be rocky and fruitless, but as long as Christ calls and bids us to come and rest, the mission field will continue to be joy-filled and lovely in His sight.
Below you will find a prayer and praise calendar to be used for the month of June. 1) Pray for a growing desire on the part of our students to seek spiritual truth. 2) Pray for protection against Satan’s attacks on so many fronts. 3) Praise for baby Viktoria’s continued growth in health and strength! 4) Pray for God’s work in our hearts to develop a Godly boldness lived out in deep humility. 5) Praise for the Deutschmann’s new baby grandson, Josiah Thomas! Baby, mom and family are doing well. 6) Pray for ongoing personal growth in holiness and obedience, relying upon the Spirit’s enabling power. 7) Pray for Sarah as she seeks the Lord’s leading for the future and applies for a church ministry in the States. 8) Pray for safety in traveling for the Andersons on Home Ministry Assignment, and pray that their words might call more people to pray for and serve in mission fields throughout the world. 9) Pray for Dean Williams and Alan Carter who will be the speakers for our English Camps this summer. Pray for wisdom, discernment, boldness, and humility. 10) Pray for open hearts to hear the messages during English Camps. 11) Praise for full English Camps this summer! 12) Pray for the teams for our English Camps as they prepare their lessons, testimonies, and activities. 13) Praise for God’s Spirit who will bring to completion the work He has begun in us. 14) Pray for many opportunities at the camps to share the love of Christ in word and deed. 15) Pray for the Lord’s provision and protection in the midst of Diana’s physical and spiritual needs. 16) Pray for Svetlana, our paralyzed friend, with her many physical needs. 17) Praise for Sarah’s faithful, helpful, and valuable service here these last 2+ years. 18) Pray for the Lord to have more people join our team to serve here in Zlin and other cities in the Czech Rep.. 19) Praise for the U.S. teams who are willing to sacrifice in order to help in our mission here. 20) Praise for God’s mercy, grace, and faithfulness in light of our weakness, doubts, and fears. 21) Praise for continued stability in our seminary extension here in Zlin. 22) Praise for a beautiful spring that has made obvious the amazing beauty, power, and complexity of our Creator. 23) Praise for daily health and strength—emotionally, physically, and spiritually—to press on in our calling here. 24) Pray for Sarah as she says goodbye to so many Czech family and friends. 25) Pray for our Sunday School program, as the children weekly learn the Bible verses and catechism. May they grow in grace and spiritual maturity. 26) Pray for Sarah’s safety as she flies back to the States today. 27) Pray for Rene as he shepherds our church in the Word every week. 28) Praise for the beautiful growth in fellowship and love among the members of our church. 29) Pray for the beginning of a membership class for our church, and praise for the need for a membership class! 30) Pray for continued faithfulness for us as a team, to rely on the Lord in all circumstances. I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the
Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart
take courage; wait for the Lord! ~Psalm 27:13-14~ |
