Mission
to the World has served in the Czech Republic since 1991.
When the Iron Curtain
lifted from Communist Central Europe in 1989, the Czech people
rediscovered their own national and cultural identity
as well as a new struggle to seek out the freedoms and riches of
their place in the world. Yet in this struggle to regain a
hopeful
vision of the future, they have forgotten about the treasures
and wisdom of the past, when impassioned battles were fought
over the hearts and souls of men in relation to God and His
Word. As a result, there is an aching emptiness in the
heart of Europe that can only be satisfied by one source of
freedom and riches: the love and salvation of Jesus Christ.

Today, out of the 10 million people that live in the Czech
Republic at least 60% claim that there is no God, and only
20,000 people attend church regularly. The empty churches that
are now concert halls and art galleries exhibit that though
culture and the arts are highly valued in this nation, they have
tried to find meaning for their lives only by what they can
create. The MTW Czech Republic Team serves for one purpose: to
share the glorious news that the world was created for the glory
of God, that a personal Savior does exist: that Jesus
Christ lived, died for our sins, and rose again that we all
might find forgiveness and the true freedom of life eternal.
Please pray for us, the ministry, and the people of the
Czech Republic.
